Y 2017 Underage awards

St.Joseph’s GAC Glenavy 2017 Underage Presentation.

Over two hundred boys and girls along with their coaches and parents attended their annual U-10 and U-12 presentation which was held in the Ballymac Hotel. Guest of honour was club president Fr. Colm McBride. It was great to see so many mums and dads present to support their children. Club coaching officer Gavin Phillips welcomed everyone and thanked the team managements of the various teams for the time and effort they put in to help the young players develop their skills. Gavin also thanked the parents for their support throughout the season particularly with transport to away games and for the general help they gave around the club. It has been a very successful year for the teams with the U12’s winning their league, U-14’s and U-16’s and minors reached their league finals and minors. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the U-12 medals to the winning panel of players.

The U-10, U-12 and U-14 camogie players were also present. The girls had a successful year winning several tournaments during the season

The boys awards were presented by senior players Michael McCourt and team captain Patrick Gallagher.

There were three categories of awards in each category.

1. Player of the year. 2 Most Improved player. 3 Best endeavour.

U-10 Girls & Boys:

1. Keela McAlister & Liam Reynolds. 2 Nicole Dobbin & Luca McGoran

3 Ella O’Hare & Johnny Christie

U-12 Boys

1 Dara McAlister, 2 Oisin McArdle. 3. Eoin Phillips.

Special award.

Michael Morgan was players’ player of the year (selected by the players).


The camogie awards were presented by their coaches, Rachel Cafolla, Olwyn McCambridge, Catherin Curran, David Butler and Colm Donnelly.
